On March 14, 2007 a formal presentation was made at the Centerville Abington School Board by the ACT Midwest regional office. To be considered for the ACT "RED QUILL" designation, a school must demonstrate a long-term commitment to increased student achievement through effective use of EXPLORE, PLAN and ACT data.
Centerville Senior High School has been recognized by the Indiana Department of Education as a Four Star School in 1996, 2005 and in 2010. The school was recognized by the Indiana Department of Education by placing in the top 25 percent of Indiana schools in four performance areas: total ISTEP scores, mathematics proficiency, language arets proficiency, graduation rates and attendance.
Centerville Senior High School has been accredited by the North Central Association since 1968. To achieve accreditation, schools must meet AdvancED / NCA CASI’s high standards, be evaluated by a team of professionals from outside the school, and implement a continuous school improvement plan focused on increasing student performance. The accreditation process is voluntary and must be renewed every 5 years. The North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement is a non-governmental, voluntary association of public and private elementary and secondary schools in 19 states, the Navajo Nation, and the Department of Defense Dependents’ Schools overseas. NCA CASI accredits 9,000 schools, challenging them to prepare all students for success as they move from home to school to higher education and/or careers.
Congratulations to Centerville Senior High School for receiving the Indiana Chamber of Commerce designation as "Best Buy" high school. This designation was developed by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce to recognize schools that have excelled academically while providing value in tax dollars. This is the second year in the row that Centerville Senior High School has received this designation. The designation is based up ISTEP scores, attendance rates, graduation rates, SAT scores and the amount of expenditure spent per student. Centerville Senior High School had the highest “quality quotient” of any school in Wayne County. Centerville Senior High School also received the “Best Buy” designation in 1999, 2000, 2005, 2006,.2007, 2008 and 2009. |
