The Centerville-Abington Community School Corporation has a wealth of dedicated support personnel. The support staff are a very important part of the daily operation of the school system.
- Health Services
- Centerville-Abington Elementary, Centerville-Abington Junior
High and Centerville Senior High School have nurse on duty. She is
Julie Horn. At Rose Hamilton Elementary, we have a nurse. She is
Sharon Provance. Both nurses promote good health and safety
habits, provide immediate and short term care, conduct a variety of
health screening tests, and maintains state required immunization
and student health records.
- Food Services
- The school systems provides a Type "A" lunch in all five buildings. In addition to the Type "A" meals, the Junior High and the Senior High have a-la-carte programs. Our Food Service Manager (Nutritionist), Amanda Stout oversees the lunch program in four kitchens. Four head cooks and twenty-one cafeteria workers prepare the meals each school day.
- Transportation
- The school systems operates 26 school buses, 4 special education buses and 5 special purpose vans. There are 25 regular drivers, 8 substitute drivers, and two aides who provide transportation services to over 1200 students each day. All buses are equipped with two-way radios. The Centerville-Abington School Corporation has a bus maintenance garage and two mechanics.
- CARES Club
- Centerville-Abington Community Schools has designed a childcare service called C.A.R.E.S. (Centerville-Abington Recreational Educational Service" that assists working or school bound parents by providing their children with a safe and enjoyable environments. The service is open to children kindergarten through grade 6. Care is available from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and is offered in both Rose Hamilton Elementary and Centerville-Elementary Schools. Children who attend the early morning program may purchase a breakfast from the school cafeteria at 7:30 a.m. A C.A.R.E.S. Handbook that contains procedures and fees is available at the elementary office.
